AWCC Submission in response – Making awards easier to use

AWCC made the following submission containing a list of reponses to other submissions made by Employer Groups. No Union responses were listed as none had been made at this point. This submission was compiled by our Modern Award Joint Advisory Committee (MAJAC) which consists of payroll practitioners and related industries representatives who work with modern awards on a daily basis.
During this process, AWCC adhered to the requirements of the submission process, with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with the following aspects of President Hatchers statement dated 15 September 2023 including the underlined points of paragraph 4:

…………“The Minister further states that he considers it critically important that the modern award
system be easy to understand, stable, and sustainable, and encourages the use of the proposed review
to identify what parties believe could be done to make awards easier to use. The Minister also notes
the Government’s view that the review should not result in any reduction in entitlement for awardcovered employees.”
